Mastering Engineer Ron Skinner has been recording music and mastering records for over 20 years and has worked on hundreds of projects from a wide range of genres. He will bring all of this knowledge and experience to your project and will strive to bring out the very best in your final master.
About Ron Skinner
Ron Skinner began his career as a musician in Southwest Ontario. Growing up a stone's throw from one of the world's greatest music cities, Detroit, had a major impact on his musical tastes and sensibilities. By the time he was in high school, Skinner had committed himself to the art of audio and became the go-to live sound person in his local music scene.
After high school, Skinner attended the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario where he studied under legendary music producer Jack Richardson.
After graduating from the Music Industry Arts program, Skinner began working as a recording engineer and producer and continues in this capacity today. Building on his experience as a recording engineer and producer, Skinner opened Heading North Mastering in 2000.
Since then, he has mastered projects for a wide range of musicians, including Dan Mangan, Elliott Brood, the Juno nominated Dave Young, and the Grammy-nominated jazz artist Jane Bunnett, to name just a few.
Atmosphere
Mastering By Ron Skinner in many ways reflects the changing music industry. It is a home-based mastering suite and this "work at home" ethos has provided a relaxed and cost-effective environment for music mastering. Skinner has developed a strong reputation as a calm and caring engineer with a great ear and fine attention to detail. He would love to master your next project.
